Shipping Via Ferry
What happens if we can’t reach you by truck? Once the ship has sailed, let’s keep your order floating.
- There is a non-negotiable $200 flat fee for any orders that need to be delivered by ferry.
- The most common areas that need a ferry for delivery include: Fire Island, Shelter Island, parts of Washington State and parts of Massachusetts (Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, etc.).
- Unfortunately, we only ship to addresses within the continental United States at this time. We are also unable to ship to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, APO and FPO. International customers may still make purchases on our site as long as the shipping address is within the continental United States and the purchase is made with a credit card issued in the United States.
Why?
- Many products we offer are not available outside of the United States.
- Our manufacturer?s agreement restricts selling outside the United States.

We want you to have a pleasant experience from start to finish so that you can order with confidence. Here are some things you will need to know prior to the delivery of your order:
- Delivery company will contact you when your order ships. Please contact us with any questions or concerns about delivery.
- If you select Standard Shipping as the appropriate choice for your order, make sure you follow the guidelines below so the process goes smoothly.
- If you select White Glove Shipping, there will be extra responsibilities and information you must be aware of in addition to the information described under Standard Shipping.
Standard Shipping
- An adult 18 or older must be present on the scheduled day of arrival.
- Examine the external and internal condition of the packaging and products as soon as they arrive.
- DO NOT SIGN for your products until you have completed your examination and are satisfied with the condition of your order.
- We’ll stand behind you! First, you’ll need to wait to sign off on your order until you can complete a thorough examination.
- You have rights! If your order is received damaged, or if the shipper refuses to wait for you to examine the product, sign for the product as DAMAGED and contact us immediately via phone or email. See Damaged Return policies below for more information.
- Once you sign for your shipment as clean and satisfactory, the shipper will be released of liability for any damage that occurred during shipment. If you are unsure of the condition at the time of delivery, do not mark as clean. If you sign for a delivery as acceptable, you will become responsible for shipping and restocking fees in the event that you need to return or exchange the product regardless of any damage you believe occurred during shipping.
White Glove Shipping: Additional Guidelines

Make sure you have cleared a wide enough path from the door to the floor.
- Remove doors, large furniture, or other obstacles preventing smooth transfer along the pathway into the destination room.
- Clear out the room that will be the destination of the products being delivered with more than generous space around the final resting area.
- Measure once! Measure twice! Measure to certainty. Make sure there is more than enough room for the placement of the new household fixture or appliance. Use the dimensions on the product pages as references.
- NOTE: The shipper charges $40 per 15 minute increment to wait while doors are removed or paths are cleared. If any additional charge is incurred, you will be billed for it.
- NOTE: If the shipper is unable to perform any delivery services due to failure to properly prepare your home, we cannot refund delivery costs.
- Prepare properly, please! If you opt to have your old appliance removed as a part of your White Glove service for an appliance, you must have the old appliance completely unplugged and removed from all gas and other hookups prior to the arrival of the shipper. In the event that you fail to properly prepare your old appliance, the shipper may either deny the haul away service or charge extra to wait while you unhook the appliance. Any additional accrued charges from the shipper will be billed to you.
Sometimes unseen circumstances prevent you from being completely satisfied with your purchase when it arrives. We offer a 30 Day Money Back, 100% Satisfaction Guarantee. If you aren’t completely satisfied, here are some things you need to know about returns and exchanges:
- You have 30 days from the shipment date to return or exchange your order or parts of your order.
- Number1Direct pays the majority of shipping costs on most of our sales so we can offer you the best deal possible. In the event that you need to return or exchange a product, you will be responsible for paying return shipping costs and restocking fees unless the product was deemed damaged at the time of delivery.
- Sorry! We cannot take returns on used items.
- Overstock items can only be returned if damage occurred during shipping.
- Shipping fees are not refundable.
- We may charge a restocking fee.
If the product you are returning or exchanging is an overweight/oversized item that was shipped via Freight/LTL carrier, we will arrange for the carrier to pick up the item for return from your home. You will be billed prior to the pickup for the return shipping costs as well as the original shipping fees.
When the carrier arrives at your home, the item must be placed in the original box with the UPC code and all original packing materials, manuals, and accessories. If your original delivery method included free removal of the packing materials upon arrival, other arrangements must be made to repack the item securely. It is possible for damages to occur during transit. It is very important to examine your product for damage upon delivery.
- While external packaging may appear to be fully intact, there could be internal damage that must be identified at the time of delivery.
- Please review the above delivery guidelines to guarantee that you properly receive your order.
- If the product is installed before you discover a defect, many manufacturers will require a service call to address the issue. Number1Direct can assist you in finding an appropriate solution.
If you encounter a problem at the time of delivery, please contact us as soon as possible. If the office is closed at the time of your concern, mark your delivery appropriately (see Delivery above) and contact us the following business day or immediately via email at customerservice@number1direct.com.
Number1Direct is an Authorized Retailer of every brand that we carry. All items come with a full Manufacturer's Warranty. This is usually a full year warranty. Any problem due to a defect with the product can be handled through this warranty and will not require a return. You can contact the manufacturer directly for these services. Phone numbers and other contact information are usually found in the manual that you received with your product upon delivery.
Number1Direct accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards. In addition, we accept Cashier’s Checks, Money Orders, Company Checks, and Paypal. Please NOTE:
- Company Checks may require up to 10 business days to clear before an order ships.
- We DO NOT accept e-checks, but payment can be submitted using Paypal.

Your credit card is charged when your order is finalized. In very rare instances, errors may occur with your order. These errors include:
- Selecting an incorrect quantity of pieces
- Selecting the wrong model
- Selecting the wrong color
Whether this mistake was entered by you or by us, you have 24 hours after the order is placed to review it and bring any discrepancies to our attention. We will correct them immediately. If the 24 hour window includes a day such as a Sunday or a major holiday during which we are not open, contact us by the following business day to have your order altered.
After 24 hours, restocking fees may be applied for all changes requested. MAKE SURE to review your order within 24 hours of submitting it in order to ensure that the order is correctly placed.
All orders have a 24 hour cancellation window. Review your order right away and contact us immediately if there is a problem with your order. Please send a verification email to customerservice@number1direct.com with your name, order number, reason for cancellation, and date of cancellation. We are closed on Sundays and major holidays. If our offices are closed, please shoot us an email with your cancellation information or call us the following business day. Keep in mind the following information:
- Within 24 hours, you may cancel your order without a fee.
- After 24 hours, your cancellation request will be subject to review.
- After 24 hours, if the manufacturer HAS NOT processed the order yet, we may be able to cancel the order without charging a restocking fee.
- If the order HAS been processed by the manufacturer after the 24 hour window, your cancellation will be subject to a restocking fee.
Refund of a cancelled order (subtracting any applicable fees) may take up to three business days to process, depending on the terms and policies set by your bank.
