Number1Direct is a family business dedicated to serving God and our fellow man in everything that we do. This is accomplished every day by being mindful of the gifts and talents we have been given and using them to the best of our ability for the greater good.

This is instilled into our employees both by word and example. In our retail store hang two highly visible plaques containing our philosophy alongside a crucifix:

"We believe everything we do should be for the greater glory of God. Our priority is to serve our fellow man to the best of our ability. We want our customers to see Christ in us and everything we do."

This also permeates through our entire company culture by example, starting at the Ownership level.

In our hometown market of St. Louis, Missouri, we are a household name when people talk about appliances, electronics and furniture. But more importantly, people know us from our advertising message that always contains the line, "Give us a chance everyday but Sunday". We know that we give up a lot of retail business by being closed on Sundays. But we do this for specific reasons. First and foremost, we are called by God to keep this day reserved for him. That, we are aware, can mean many things to many people. Having time to go to church, spend time with families or just relax and regroup are some ways our people do this. These basic needs, these core values, far outweigh the monetary gains that could be realized by being open yet another retail shopping day. This is what we are called to do. So, if you call us on Sunday and we don't answer the phones, try us one of the other six days of the week.
